Ara joined Otsuka in 2016, initially working on corporate strategy and M&A. He worked in a similar capacity at Pharmavite (Otsuka’s Supplements subsidiary) since 2012 and has helped develop strategies to expand into new forms, new categories, and new geographies. Prior to joining Pharmavite, Ara was a member of the Distressed Opportunities fund at Oaktree Capital and, prior to that, worked across M&A and leveraged finance at UBS Investment Bank. Ara is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with a BS in Business Administration.

What’s your favorite wellness activity?

I love to get out of the house and go for a run. It’s a great way to clear the mind and an especially great way to get to know new neighborhoods when traveling.

What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?

Spending time with my wife, two boys, and extended family, often over good food.

What does health mean to you?

I view health holistically, spanning not only diet and lifestyle elements but also social. Eating clean, diverse foods; staying active and agile; and maintaining close relationships with those around me
